How fab is this? Forget about the right decor - who cares?
Go for the colour clash, baby ... yeah!
The model 746 Telephone was first introduced into service in the UK in 1967. This was an improved version of the previous 706 model. The 746 case had an integral handle, which removes the need for a separate handle (as used on the 706's). The case styling was slightly different from the 706 although it retained the same overall look and feel. The same colour options were available that had become popular with the 706 range. The 746 was later produced with the new style plug type lead (PST and renumbered as was known as the 8746) this was also converted to high impedance bells to work reliably on the new system of wiring.
Working in partnership with specialist ex-BT engineers, our intention is to supply increasingly rare, genuine telephones - reconditioned to a very high standard, and converted properly to work on most modern-day landlines.
Our engineers will always discuss and try to resolve any exchange line suitability issues you may have or be concerned about.
We source original telephones, avoiding replicas at all cost - often paying over the odds for them ourselves!
We then restore and convert them for modern-day use
We do all the necessary technical bits:
We ensure the phone has the correct loading spec for todays exchange lines...
We add the components which make the audio clear and pleasant ...
We refurbish and maintain the delicate dial mechanism ...
... and more - but it gets a bit boring!
We replace the curly handset cord with a brand new one and fit a good length modern BT line cord.
We do our best to keep a varied range in stock.
We're always happy to discuss any imaginable colour combination for your 'phone!
You should be aware that because we have to do all of this and carry out tests to ensure that all is well the lead time for delivery can be up to 14 days - we will endeavour to supply well within that time of course but nevertheless we also owe it to you, the customer, to be realistic as well!
